What to Look For in a Good Contractor

Your project's success will be largely determined by choosing the right contractor. We will give you our best advice to help you choose the right contractor and ensure that your experience is a positive one. The following section lists important qualifications you should look for when hiring a contractor.

Look for a contractor who specializes in the type of project you are interested in. A contractor who is familiar with your type of project will understand important issues, such as the material specifications and the scheduling required to finish the job within your timetable. The Contractor should know more than you about the work he will perform.  A contractor should also be able to tell you what products and materials he would likely use for your project. He should also offer you several options when selecting products, materials, and techniques.

A Good Contractor will never ask for the entire cost up front but may require 1/3 down to start the project.  He should show up on time when scheduled.  If you get a bad feeling about someone just tell them you are getting other estimates and will get back to them.  A Good Contractor will never pressure you into a contract by threatening the price he is quoting won't be the same unless you sign at this moment.  Always take your time.  A True PROFESSIONAL will stand out.

The lowest price is not always the best!
You get what you pay for!
